St Joseph’s Catholic Church is a masterpiece of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. A parish church for Sheringham, which, aside from the town’s war memorial, is Sheringham’s only listed building
In 1933, the Guild of Our Ladye of Walsingham was founded here by Canon Walmsley Carter. Priest members of the Guild promised to celebrate one Mass each year in honour of Our Lady of Walsingham, while lay members promised either to assist at Mass and receive Holy Communion or to pray the five Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary.
The Guild was a precursor to today’s Walsingham Association, and has maintained a strong connection with both Our Lady’s Shrine and the Association ever since.
